U.S. Soldiers Bring Home Stories, Videos of Atrocities
blog.wired.com – 2/17/2008

“With consumer-grade cameras wielded both by soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and by family members and the media in Washington, expect some harrowing images and testimony to emerge. Should these videos reach enough Americans, they will reignite the smoldering debate over American military conduct that began with the Abu Ghraib photos and the controversies over Guantanamo.”

IMPEACH ALREADY!!! Aren’t you getting tired of these polls? We should still answer the poll to send the messages to congress in every way we can- YES – IMPEACH! Both Bush AND Cheney! I like how he has the question under “Government Accountability”.

I have heard from people who regularly walk the halls of congress lobbying for impeachment, that our calls of impeachment support do make a big difference.

So, please keep your calls coming in and ask others to call.

Ask Senators to vote “NO” on current spying bill and keep telecom immunity out of any bill that comes up for a vote.

4 02 2008

Dear Friend,

By Wednesday night, the debate over government eavesdropping will end in the Senate.

In less than three days, we will know who stood up for civil liberties and who failed freedom. Help put Senator Mikulski on notice before the Senate votes.

Our demands are simple and unwavering. Stay true to your oath to protect the Constitution. Stand up against an overreaching executive branch. And, don’t grant blanket immunity to huge corporations that sold out Americans’ privacy.

Call Senator Senator Mikulski at (202) 224-4654 or (410) 962-4510 and say something like this:

I am calling about the spying bill currently being considered by the Senate. I urge you to fight for a bill that’s constitutional and respects the rule of law. Please vote NO on the current Senate Intelligence Committee spying bill, and keep telecom immunity out of any bill that comes up for a vote.

Please reject any bill that allows for the warrantless surveillance or “bulk collection” of Americans’ phone calls and emails.

When you are finished, log your call here.

PS. YOU CAN CALL ALL SENATORS:
Capitol Hill Switchboard: (202) 224-2131 , (800) 828-0498

Join us at the September 15 demonstration

14 09 2007

Sept15 button

On Saturday, September 15, tens of thousands of people from across the country will gather at 12 noon at the White House (north side in Lafayette Park) and then march to the Capitol (west side) to call for an end to the Iraq war — and for impeachment of Bush and Cheney. A map of the march route and other event details can be found here.

Join us for a quick coffee and breakfast at the main Savory Cafe (the one at 7071 Carroll Avenue, up the hill from the gazebo in Takoma Park) around 10:30 am, and then we will walk down to the Metro together. Bring your IMPEACH THEM signs, banners, t-shirts etc. (If you miss us and want to try to find us at the demonstration, call 240-462-5973.)

Speaker and march co-chairman Ramsey Clark strongly supports impeachment, and the impeachment group ImpeachBush.org is a major co-sponsor of the demonstration. Clark:

Each and every one of us must do all that we can to support the major Peace/Impeachment demonstration in Washington, DC on September 15, 2007, backed by more than a million votes for impeachment, and accelerating… Only if we do our part might the rest of the world again believe, as it usually has, and has always wanted to do, that the American people are their friends, it is their government that is the problem.

Clark also makes his case for impeachment at the ImpeachBush.org web site.
